Moving on....

YEAH!! SO I finally was able to get a new blog!!! With this new year upon us I decided to make a few changes.. Nothing DRASTIC so no worries. I do ask that you make sure you read up on the website for the new changes..you can also check out the new faces of Jax Creations Photography. There are a few galleries left to be updated on the main website and I will post a new note when those are finished.

I tried to get the blog finished by the 1st but I just couldnt do it....call me lazy, crazy or busy... but I do have it finished enough to share :)

So, grab something yummy to eat and take a look at the new blog!!!

Cookie Time~ Being an at home mommy

Life in general with 4 kids is pretty hectic and crazy, but at the same time really enjoyable. I do admit there are moments where I pray I was just alone in a padded room - just so I could get some quiet time with just me, but then there are those moments where love FILLS my heart with so much! Every day each one of my kids make me laugh.. Just the other day, we were all sitting in the living room and dining room... WAIT! I should explain the "we" part just so you get a better mental image... so there is me, my hubby, Ryan- Charley's cousin, Angel - his sister, Devin- an adopted friend, and so many kids I honestly couldnt remember who was all here LOL... so we were all sitting around chatting it up, when Matty comes in to announce he found something..
"mom! Guess what I found on the globe"? " what did you find"..... " TURKEY"!!! "Yeah, that is funny huh. That is a country"... at that moment I looked at my husband to make sure I just gave my son the correct info.. I was not the student that cared ANYTHING about Geography. SO after my husband laughed at me, flared his nose and rolled his eyes (all in a 'I love my silly wife' way) he confirmed that I was correct. Then.... Devin asked Matty.. "Yeah, do you know where Turkey located at"?...... and my son- who I think is the brightest in the family says, " Yes, on the GLOBE"! hehehehe...

And well, since I am sharing a funny on one child I guess I should embarrass them all :) I wouldnt want anyone to feel left out!

So Lilly... she gives us the most funnies, but one that is cute... One night she was cleaning her room and her dad asked her why her clock was unplugged.. She then just stared at him like a deer in headlights.. He told her that she should plug it in so she knew what time it was and she can then set her alarm... well... hehehe my bright child then explains... "I cant. I have to wait till its 12:00 to plug it in".... dumbfounded, he asked her why. She stated that is because that is the time that it is blinking and she needed to wait till that EXACT moment so that it would be the right time when she plugged it in. LOL Apparently she has still yet to find the hour and minute button!!! I love her!!

Christopher~ This child is the monster of the house. He is so cute at his 3 year old stage, but dont let that child fool you - He is CRAZY!!! This is the one that you will find climbing on furniture, jumping off high things, climbing the walls, running thru the house with no where to go or making the loudest sounds possible.. all because it seems like fun! As much as he makes me foam at the mouth and makes my head spin in frustration.. he also melts my heart the fastest. When he smiles- those dimples just make all the high blood pressure go away. He is the first one in the morning to ask me how I slept, the one that will quickly cuddle with you when watching tv and the first one to be blatantly honest with you! He is the one that you will find to want to do EVERYTHING that the guys are doing. This morning while they were all having coffee, he was on the search for an abandon coffee cup. When that failed he asked for his own- with his name on it just like everyone else.. when they sat down for breakfast, he wanted more- even though he already had some. He is the one that will mimick EVERYTHING. He makes tools out of legos and pretends he is building a house - just like the guys. He even includes the sound effects.
Oh- this is funny. The other day I was sitting on the couch feeding the baby- which equals out to.. not able to move... i looked over and one of the puppies was peeing on my carpet- AGAIN. GRRR. Under my breath (so I thought) i said " F&**ing puppy".. Christopher then looked over at me from his show with a disgusting look on his face "why you say dat mom"? my eyes went wide. I tried playing dumb "say what? I didnt say anything" "yes you did. why you say dat mom"? Crap- did he really hear me say that??? So I responded again, thinking I could play dumb, " what? Say what? Flipping puppy" "no, f**k. why you say f**k"? OH CRAP!! he heard me. It took ALL that I had to not burst out into laughter, but I figured if I did that, it would be ALL over and he would think he could say that anytime. SO I quickly corrected him and myself and said that was a VERY BAD word and in NO way is ANYONE to say that word!!! EVER!!

And of course there is the sweetest, cutest, chuky kid of all.. my little Charlie Joe.. so far no good stories to share except he has the most cutest face with one dimple!!! He is my daily joy :)

.... I decided a while back that I was not going to do any sessions in December UNLESS it was a sweet newborn. I wanted to spend more time with my family and kids having some fun. The other day I woke with lots of energy. Now idea where it came from and I am waiting for it to come back...but I was on a cookie adventure hunt that day. I got the kids dressed and we piled into the car and fought the Wal-mart crowd.. and I still left in a good mood! we got home and I cleaned the house as quickly as I could and then we ( Christopher and I) made our first batch of Christmas cookies. Now, of course they were no where "perfect" looking.. I am no Martha Stewart- i just do not have the patience for that! But I found an AWESOME recipe on Pioneer Woman- who is my kitchen cooking idol.. this was the best recipe to make with kids!

Here is a few pictures of my first Christmas cookie adventure! It felt so good to be an at home mom at that moment. It was so nice making cookies with my little monster. I do admit that I was a little sad that all the kids were not home at that moment to help, but my head quickly went to the volt of crazy chaos when it is all of them home trying to do the same thing.. I need to come up with a better plan before stepping into THAT again!

Sweet Baby "K" | Newborn Photography

I get so excited when clients come back again and again.. especially when they add a cute, sweet, new bundle of joy to their family!

I was so happy when I heard the news that this momma was expecting. I couldnt wait to see this new baby or to hear what they were blessed with. They were keeping it a surprise!
It was so hard for me to not email or call them often to see if there was a new baby yet. I was SURE that this baby was going to be just as cute as their first baby!

When I finally did get the message that a new baby GIRL was born- I was THRILLED. We had planned this time around to get her in early so we could capture the newborn sweetness. I couldn't wait to meet this sweet girl!

Baby "A" | Sandpoint Childrens Photographer

Meet Miss A.. she is my future 'daughter-in-law'.... It's just that her parents nor my son know that yet!!

I met this family... what seems so long ago and I was blessed enough to be able to capture their wedding and get to know this momma. When she got pregnant- we both celebrated.. although her pregnancy was smooth sailing compared to mine. I SO Envied her during that time! But I couldn't wait for her to hold her sweet miracle.
I was super excited when I got to do her maternity pictures and even MORE excited when I got to do Miss A's newborn photos... well, if you can believe it already, she is pushing towards 7 months already :( When momma called to schedule a session for this stage, I was EVEN MORE excited.
Granted newborns are my FAVE but I just LOVE the 6-9 months stage. So much wonderful personalities show and so many beautiful smiles.

This adorable and fashionable doll is a client I knew when she was just a little thing.... now she is growing up with her own personality and rules! Welcome to the Independent Toddler Stage LOL.
Her momma {who is a Fabo hair dresser} was determined to get a few snaps of Miss T in her CUTE hat.. and so was I. She looks so darn cute in her fashion hats!

More Family Fun | Sandpoint Child Photographer

Well, here it is! My other family fun session I did on that COLD Saturday morning. I do have to say that I was super impressed with those kids. Not once did they complain or fuss that they were cold. I felt like a weenie all dressed in my coat, long johns, jeans, sweater, 2 shirts.. and STILL cold.

The babies were OH-SO-Cute.. and it was hard to not just play with them the whole time. I could have loved them all morning. The boys, were AWESOME. Followed directions perfectly. I really could not have asked for a better group of kids to work with.

Having Some Family Fun | Sandpoint Photographer

Saturday after Thanksgiving I had booked a few sessions for special clients that had family coming in. We all decided that we would do family photos out in Dover -
its a popular place to go!

That morning when I woke, I noticed all the frost on the grass and the gloomy clouds over head. It was going to be a COLD day.

Here is a sneak peek of one of the families I photographed that day (the other session is soon to come!)
This group was LOADS of fun and all had such GREAT attitudes for standing out in the cold. This family goes into my 10 tops of AWESOME families to work with! I hope that I will be able to do more photos for them in the future.

The Cast Of Characters:
Mom- she and gentle. In charge of clothing :)
Dad - Very nice! Easy going.
Gramma- Gentle and kind.
Oopa - A character! Always had something funny to say or do... Made the whole morning a HOOT!
Brother - Oopa's partner in crime. I think he likes to be center of attention LOL
Sister In Law - Fashionable (love the jacket) polite and another sweetie
Last BUT not least... Mr. K! Super cute, smiley, shy and adorable!

I know I have said it before.. but I had a great time with this group! Made my "job" so enjoyable.. especially out in that COLD. My Florida bloods still runs thru these veins.

Playtime with "C" | Sandpoint Child Photographer

Last week I was invited to come take photos of this sweet 20m old.. Miss C in her BEAUTIFUL home.. which I later learned that my hubby helped with the designing/ drafting of. Kind of neat!

Miss C and I did some jumping, dancing to a purple monkey, watched a little tv, sang some songs, colored and had some tea... well.... I did a lot of dancing and singing, but I mainly watched her have tea. lol

Family Session | North Idaho Photographer

November has just zoomed by so fast.. I can not believe that tomorrow is the LAST Day of November. This month has been busy with family sessions for the Christmas season. Here is a sneak peek of one of my recent families.

The kids are older so it takes me a while to snap back into "grown up" talk. Most of the time I find it hard to talk funny to the bigger kids and adults to get a good smile...I think I need to study up on my jokes!

The momma of this family is a sweet, gentle and talented mom. If you ever need some yummy pizza sauce I hear she is the one to go to! She is also great at helping you getting your office and or home organized- without buying a bunch of stuff. With a few tips I managed to clean, gut and organize the boys room. Now I am just debating if i should let them back in it!

Baby "P" | Newborn Photographer Sandpoint

A while back ago, I received a lovely phone call from a mom who was expecting her first sweet baby. It was "penciled" planned that this little one would most likely come really early. Although we always hope for a faster delivery date, a healthy baby is much more important. Well... days passed and then weeks and still no baby yet. Finally this baby had to be scheduled for her birthday! When I received that call that this baby was coming, I was so excited for this family... and of course I couldnt wait to meet her!!!

Nine days after her birth, I finally got to meet this sweet babe!

My heart instantly turned into goo as I lifted the blankets off the car seat to take a peek. She was so sweet looking and so tiny... I was just in baby heaven!

Baby "P" must have done her reading...either that or she heard my prayers for a sleepy baby, because she slept pretty much the whole time...minus the moment where she peed all over me... but that was ok.... she was just too cute to get grossed out - plus after 4 kids..... newborn pee is the LEAST of my worries!
But her daddy - bless his heart... feared of getting poo'd on. Not that it was nice to laugh but momma kept rooting for dad to be the main target... and lucky him left without a mess!

baby "A" | Sandpoint Newborn Photographer

When I look at this sweet babe, the song by Michelle Featherstone "sweet sweet baby" comes to mind. This baby girl was.... perfect! And -oh-so-beautiful.

When she arrived she was snug as a bug in her car seat. This is the moment where I hold my breath and pray that the baby stays asleep as we move them from the comfort of the seat to the "stage"...... and she did awesome and stayed sleeping. After a while though, I couldnt keep my hands off of her.. and she kept adding to my laundry pile (lol) she did eventually wake up. Again, I just gushed over this baby miracle. She is SO STINKEN CUTE!!! And lucky me, gets to see her 2 more times in her first year!!

There are many things that melt my gushy heart, but one of the BIGGEST things is seeing a daddy love his child. And this daddy just morphed into a glob of love for his daughter. When he was holding her or even just looking at her, he went into a different world. It really was so sweet watching them together. This little girl is going to have him wrapped so tight around her fingers! Watch out daddy!

A & W - it was SO wonderful meeting you three. Thank you so much for coming to see me and letting me do your photos. I look forward in seeing you all in 6 months and again for her 1st birthday. Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL gift from God. She truly is so cute! I could just smoother her in kisses!

It is so sweet when siblings just love on their little baby.... Mr. K was so cute in lovin on his sister. Kids are amazing and so wonderful. Little baby K was So full of expressions. I loved getting close to her and seeing all the faces she gave. For a baby at almost five months old, she was a gem! Very full of energy and so lovely.

I just finished reading I think one of the BEST books EVER (IMO)....

The Shack

I laughed, I cried, I felt pain, joy, happiness and I felt love ,in this book.

If you get a chance, pick up the book at the library and read it. Its a quick read because its just THAT good! Hmmm or maybe I will just have to buy it and give it away to someone.

A part of me wants to REALLY bad just spills the beans on this book but I want you to even more just to read it. Man! I love this book!!

I tried doing an auto reply email but that got all jacked up somehow so I figured it would be best to put an update on the blog.

Yesterday I went to the doc with flu symptoms. Which yesterday I seriously felt that I was dying and I just kept wanting it to be over as soon as possible. Either Kill me already or make me better. I was in hell. Today, not all better but feel better than yesterday. I think one more day of rest and I will be doing MUCH better - at least I hope so.

I will be away from my emails and phone for the rest of the day and tomorrow depending on how i feel.

I appreciate all the prayers and well wishes and I pray that you dont get this because it really does suck!!

For those with upcoming sessions.... i will check in with you tomorrow to let you know how i feel and i will also be contacting my doc to make sure i have the go ahead to be around other people.

{baby Tacey} II | Newborn Photographer

I couldnt help myself.. i had to have her back! Mom was sweet enough to let me photograph this beauty again.. with a friend. We treated it as a "playdate" for Crystal and I.... and oh-the-fun-we-had! It was really nice having a "playmate" with the babies. We would each take turns being the baby wrangler to get this sweet thang to sleep- which seemed she had no plans on doing so! She was super comfortable the whole time but was fighting the sleepy eyes!
We managed to get thru blankets and poses virtually mess free - it wasnt till we got mom and grandma together with baby did she decided that NOW was the best time to let it all loose! LOL I love babies!!!

{baby Tacey} North Idaho Newborn Photographer

I had been patiently waiting for this momma to have her sweet baby. I actually kept asking my hubby if he knew anything.. (he knows her brother)

I was so excited when we scheduled our session together and I couldnt wait to see this little peanut!

I was in such awe when I saw her and just beamed of joy when momma just handed her over to me. My GOSH, she was SO LIGHT - compared to my little chunk! I had many ideas for this sweet thang, but of course... and I should KNOW this by now, its not up to me. The babies are ALWAYS in control of it all. And of course, she was in control. I did manage to get a few of her in her sweet tiny way. Check out the sneak peek!

I am even more excited to have momma and baby coming over tomorrow to see if we can get just a few more shots. .... what can I say? I am addicted to tiny babies!!!

Miss J | Sandpoint Newborn Photographer

My mom is a huge supporter of me and I always tease her that she HAS to be because she is my mom.. I could never see her ever saying that I suck at anything... she is great that way. A while ago she met a young man while at work who was expecting his first little baby. She handed him one of my cards and told him to come see me. I got news that they actually had their little baby SIX weeks early! Then of course my mom kept asking me if I had heard from them...Finally one day I did get a call from this momma wanting to come in for some pictures of her sweet one.I was ECSTATIC to do so. I couldnt wait to get my hands on this baby - or any baby for that matter!
Even at 6 weeks she was still such a peanut!! And of course my heart melted.... one of these days someone is going to find a pile of goop on my studio floor from my heart melting with all these newborns... THAT does NOT mean stop coming.. in fact - BRING ME MORE!!!

{ He's MINE}

Sadly, it's not often that I pull out the camera just for fun these days. I really should because I love my family and love looking back at these photos. Most of the time its so hard for me because I continuously want to have these "perfect" photos. I mean I am a photographer... shouldnt ALL my pictures be in a certain way "perfect"? Of course I know that the answer is... no. What makes a perfect picture of my kids is just the memory I am capturing.

So yesterday, I grabbed the little potato and layed him on his belly for some photos. I was surprised that I actually got smiles AND eye contact!

I know its not often that I share personal photos but... when they are cute (IMO) I cant help but to show them off :)

{My New Love Affair}

Where have you been all my life? Your sweet creamy chocolate triangles filled with crunchy yumminess! I am in LUV!!

I have NO idea why, but today was my first experience with this candy! I am a Toblerone virgin! ...well I was about 10 minutes ago. Now I am sitting here looking at it sitting on my counter with its one piece missing, whispering to me, "eat me".

Tidbits and chicken talk

I figured the chicken talk title was a good title for a whole bunch of chit chat this morning :)
I guess the first thing though is we need to do a little update on the business side....

First... Next Saturday at the Sandpoint Event Center is the Bridal Show. If ANYONE you know is getting married, send them on over there to check out all the vendors. Of course I will be there as well as 3 of my good friends and vendors - Gotta check them out!

Next on the plate... Christmas Sessions!!
This year I will be having a cut-off date for portraits so I can spend more time with my family this year enjoying all the fun and yummy Christmas treats!
I will have more info coming soon on special sessions available, but if you are looking to do any kind of Christmas portraits, better get them SOON before that snow starts flying outside. Of course the studio is available, but outside is the BEST!

Speaking of studio.. for any of those who have had to endure our great mess outside (and for those who have been lucky to not too) we are expanding the bottom of the building and also extending the studio YAHOOO. By late winter, there will be a play room/ waiting room/ viewing room and a BATHROOM. SO excited for the bathroom. Now no one has to trek thru our messy house and the I-Never-know-what-is-in-there- Kids bathroom.. Not that I dont clean it....ok honestly i really try to avoid cleaning bathrooms and make the kids do that chore!

One more biz update.... Starting in November there will be a slight price increase on some products. So please make sure you check the website for any updates or special news I have posted on there!

Ok time for a little chicken talk :)
For some reason, I have been hit again with that nasty cold that is traveling around.. and for SOME reason this is my second time.. within weeks! Moms are NOT suppose to get sick. They are suppose to be the caregivers, not the ones slowly walking around the house with sweats on, messy hair with tissues everywhere! Like that visual, huh.
I dont know what is cooking inside my face and throat, but I do know that I DO NOT like it!
Among being sick, I am trying to organize and get things ready for the bridal show and I am learning that I am not an organized person. I make lists but when I look at them I really have no idea what to do or start at. I just hope that it all works out well and there is a good showing next saturday.
and then there is the laundry. UGH! the never ending piles of laundry. On a good note, I have mangaed to wash and dry it and pile it on the couch to be folded and put away.. But the folding is as far as I have gotten. The the dusting, and the dirt and the finger prints.. all way too much. Not that I dont want to do it, I actually DO want to just scrub the house down and sit and enjoy the clean! But having this cute little baby... well he has other plans for me.. like a 24-7 buffet (lol).

and well speaking of baby.. he is crying for me, so I guess my chicken talk is over!
I hope you all have a good and healthy weekend. I hear there is a Shop Till You Drop over at First Christian Church... maybe I will wonder over there and take a peek :)

{the "B" family} | Sandpoint Childrens Photographer

I am not even sure where to begin.... This family's mom, I met a few years ago (wow!) at my very first MOPS steering meeting. I remember first meeting her that I was intimidated by her but for some reason liked her....Over time, we grew to get to know each other a little bit more and more. Then the year that I attended Women Of Faith, we got to spend a lot of time together, singing and dancing, eating and laughing. She has come to my rescue more than I can count and I am ever so grateful for her! This momma has not only helped me in need, she has cared for me, loved me, listened to me and made me feel that I was not alone in this mothering world we are in. She has made me feel welcomed and special in every way. I am SO glad that we are friends! I know that if I ever needed ANYTHING, a hug, a shopping buddy, a babysitter, a person to listen to me scream or even someone to enjoy a glass of wine with (note; that it would only be 1 because this chicka (me) is a LIGHTWEIGHT)... I know that I can call on her.

Kim, thank you so much for all you have done for me in the past. You will never know just how thankful I am..... Not to get all mushy on ya, but .... i loves ya!

Not too long ago, her hubby, came to our rescue when my hubby did some demo on our water pipes. Needless to say... well.... we wont say exactly.
The LEAST I felt I could do is to do a family session for her. The last time we did photos was...a while... and they were fun and they were all colorful, but it was super nice to get outside and play. I was super hesitant on doing photos on this day because the WIND was so stinken bad. I did not know if it would work or not. I just did not know what to expect. But I packed up my stuff and my crying baby and we headed out to a "secret" location. {sorry cant tell ya- have to kill ya!]
One by one we let the kids out of car to endure the chilly and BREEZY weather. I think after a while the cold got to them- that is when they just decided to let it all loose and have some photo fun!

I truly enjoyed this session (and location- wish i could have it) and all the pictures. So, here is a little sneak peek of the "B" family!

Mr. C } Sandpoint Senior Photography

A few years ago I had the pleasure of doing some senior photos for a very beautiful gal that attended a Christian school near here. Last week, I had the pleasure of doing her brothers senior photos!

I will admit that working with little bitty children and girls - to then working with a TEEN guy, was very tricky for me. I had to watch the way I talked to him and make sure I didn't do any of my goofy silly faces for a laugh! I guess that was a reality check to myself that I needed some more adult conversations that did not circle around the potty, snacks, boo-boos, or the ever so popular, "mommy, she's touching ME!!!"

I did have a good time with Mr. C as we strolled thru Dover to find some nice spots. There were a couple times where may gracefulness was testing me. We could have counted numerous times where I almost fell, tripped, and stumbled. But we both survived our session without getting dirty or falling in water.

Mr. C, thank you so much for letting me do your photos. I hope you have a SUPER senior year and I wish you nothing but the best in your life's journeys ahead of you!

I was so excited when I got the call to go do a home newborn session. It seemed much more relaxed for mom and baby.

Christopher's best friend - his therapist- had a new grandbaby and I just HAD to get some photos of them. For the first few moments, she was sleepy and just a gem... then I had to keep moving her and touching her and that just made her hungry!!

CASTING CALL!!

Jax Creations Photography has some new ideas for newborns!!!

I just love those sleepy curly newborns... they make my heart go thump-thump. A lot of the times I do not have the extra time during a session to try new things either because baby keeps waking, baby a little too old, or all of us involved in that session are just ready for a nap!

So I have decided once again to hold a newborn casting call to get my ideas out!

This casting call session will be:

* Free of charge (although prints may be purchased at regular rates)

* Be goaled towards capturing a single pose/ image (if time permits additional images and pose may be attempted)

* Require a model release (most likely image will be published)

* Be held here at the Studio or another location of my choosing

The Butcher Family | Sandpoint Childrens Photographer

Its always exciting for me to meet new families!! The other day I had the pleasure of doing family photos of this beautiful group who came ALL THE WAY from Canada.. well ok, they did not come all that way just for me... they are doing their family vacation, but Hey! I am included in their adventures!!

This momma and dad..... who by the way, I thought looked like the guy from Lonestar.. In fact I actually had to come home and look up pictures and bio to see if I was wrong.... anywho, this mom and dad had some CUTE kiddos. The oldest one was all about running off some energy and filling up again on some smartee candies, but we did manage to get a few snaps.

Then I saw his brother!! Ohmigoodness!!! I wanted to just squeeze this little chunk. He was so cute.

My niece had a birthday not too long ago and we thought it would be sweet to do a photo session of her since she is getting so big. When I first met her, she was in diapers... and now she is in second grade and all a little girl can be. Feisty, fashionable and lovable.

Of course I had to get some photos of her beautiful momma - my sister in law. She too, like her daughter is feisty, fashionable, fun, spunky, and lovable.

As we were getting ready to leave, my SIL grabbed the camera and took a few of me and my little guy.. I am SO glad she did.

Mr & Mrs Ness | Sandpoint Wedding Photographer

The week of the wedding was full of finalizing all the details. The day that they have been waiting for and planning was quickly approaching. Everything that they have been waiting for... planning for.. would be over faster than one could imagine.

We had all decided that the perfect place for the first sighting of the bride would be at Dover.... their favorite place from their engagement session. There stood Jason... who conveniently looked just like his twin brother. For the first 5 minutes I got them all mixed up and confused..until his brother told me a trick.. they wore different colored ties!

....back to the story.....
So there stood Jason awaiting the arrival of his beautiful bride. And she was beautiful. The moment she arrived, the sun shined down on her and made her glow. I couldn't wait for Jason to see her!

The ceremony itself was really sweet.. Heidi looked SO happy.. so did Jason but with a little bit of nerves mixed in. As Heidi began walking down the isle, that is when it had finally showed on Jason's face of how happy he was and how much he thought Heidi looked beautiful. My heart bursts into a million pieces when I see how much in LOVE a man is with his beautiful bride as she is walking down the isle.

After the ceremony that was.. like I said.. BEAUTIFUL.... it was time to PARTY!!! Their reception was held at the beautiful Sandpoint Event Center and they were all ready to let loose and celebrate.

When we walked in to get set up for their entrance I could not help but to notice the table of sweet smelling cupcakes and their wedding cake.. YUMMY!!! This one little boy had the right idea... if you walk by and touch it.. well you have to take it.. you now have your germs on it.. I thought it was too funny.. his mom I dont think thought it was very funny.

The reception was really a lot of fun and it was great to see the other side of Jason.. I was convinced by the end of the night that he would kick some butt at some Karaoke! The DJ they had: AMPD : played some amazing music and was awesome at keeping the reception alive and moving. I was shocked to see how much people were dancing and singing along. It was a great celebration. Some of the best moves came from songs "Footloose" and " Thriller".

Heidi and Jason, thank you so much for letting me capture your day.. It was so wonderful being a part of it! Your bridal party was awesome, the ceremony was beautiful and the reception was so much fun. It was hard for me not to get out there myself and do a little dancing! Congratulations to the both of you!!

Bella The Beautiful | Sandpoint Photographer

It was finally my turn to return the favor of doing photo of my dear friend Staci. At the same time excited to do it, I was also scared poo-less to do it.. only because she said the "G" word... Group photos!! * gulp * I love taking photos - especially of families interacting with each other, but my down fall is putting them altogether as a group. I get sweaty palms and just pray it all comes out good..... now you all know my dirty little secret....Now I hope no one holds it against me or challenges me to a large group....I may just have to keel over and vomit first lol..(was that too much information?!)

anywho... Staci wanted to do photos at the peaceful Garfield Bay and even though I have been around her kids before, sweet Bella wanted nothing to do with me. But I just couldn't resist her cute sweet face and her pink boots! Of course the others were cute too.. like Mr.Owen and his funny facial expressions and his adorable lovey parents...they made my heart gush... and we cant forget Staci's mom who was so sweet and full of smiles.. and then there was her sister who just made me giggle. She was spunky and crazy and sweet just like the rest of the gang....Watchuing Staci and her sister interact with each other made me wish I had a sister. .. I tried dressing my brother up and make him do the dances I made up, but he put up such a fight.. he didnt make a very good sister....

Hadli | Sandpoint Newborn Photographer

The thing that comes to my mind when I look at her is the song 'sweet sweet baby' by Michelle Featherstone. This little peanut was a true blessing...she entered the world SIX weeks early- to her moms surprise, but is healthy and strong!

I had a great session with this family and I hope that they did too! Sweet Hadli was such a good baby and slept for us - which is always a great treat!

{A full weekend}

What a full weekend... I actually barley remember it... blame it on sleep deprivation!

It all started on Wednesday or Thursday ( cant remember) when we got the foundation poured for the addition but my stairs had to be ripped out to get it finished.. no big deal - my husband can build anything... well Saturday was a full wedding day - and what a beautiful wedding it was. Those sneak peek photos will be coming soon!.....
....On Sunday I HAD planned on getting up and making my way to church but I just could not get myself together for it. As I was washing dishes that morning I was thinking how great it would be if they could do a live broadcast somehow... (**hint hint**)

Later that day I got to do photos of my friend Staci, from Staci Bailey Photography, and her family. I had such a great time... after of course I got over my bottle of nerves. I got to meet her sister, which, by the way... she is a HOOT! I could have taken her home with me in my pocket for those times when I needed to lighten up. I could put Staci in my other pocket too to waste the days away just chit chatting! I had a great time and hoped that they did too and REALLY hope my photos of them are to her standards.. Its always scary doing photos for another photographer. So worried she would come back and tell me that I totally suck and get a REAL job lol. So I will keep my fingers crossed and pray that good things will come out of it!

.. so lets see.. where was I? oh yes, so that brings us to today - Monday. I celebrated my niece's birthday with a photo shoot this morning - which she did not seem too thrilled at all LOL which made me laugh because usually my kids ASK for a photo shoot! After that we all went out for breakfast and I was just all wired up that morning and frantic... must have been some good coffee or something... Soon after I met a new momma who I adore!! I had a great time chatting with her and meeting her sweet baby. I am still in the process of looking thru them to start my editing but before I went off to dream land, I wanted to share one with you all..

Now I know this is not the best technical shot, but some reason I like it.. Plus looking at a baby is a great way to end the night!!!

I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to enjoy that fabo weather. Its been so nice... a cool breeze but still warm.. does winter really have to come.. can we just hang on to fall for about 6 months :)

I feel so blessed with such an amazing talent of photography. Now, please dont get me wrong I am in no way bragging on myself and growing a BIG head.. I am just saying I am blessed that I dont have to have a "REAL" job!

I love all the babies and kids (and families) that walk thru my doors, but every once in a while I get a call for some Editorial or Business photos. This month was full of them.. well, ok maybe not FULL, but more than usual. One of the calls were for some fashion/ product photos of a new company getting ready to open their doors and site called: Stickman Central. They are a clothing company!

A couple weeks ago we had a FULL day of shooting models and clothes but had a GREAT time. Here are a few of my faves!

Every single one of you guys had a GREAT attitude and were fun to work with. You made smile the whole time! I am looking forward in the baby/ childrens line and shoot. Turning ONE | Sandpoint Photographer

Turning one is a big deal... you have overcome so many milestones and usually give the parents a sneak peek of your blooming personality. And more than likely, a birthday party is in the works for all your friends and family to watch this once tiny miracle, dig into a cute and colorful cake!!

..but if you dont feel good, ll you wanna do is snuggle with momma and sleep...and occasionally wipe your runny nose on moms shoulder :)

Little "M" has been in the studio since 3 months old.... and always full of smiles, but one this day the poor thing wasnt feeling too great and kept thinking his momma was going to leave him with me.....I guess he too thought I was a little odd looking lol.

We tried to get as much as we could before a melt down came but he just wanted to snuggle with mom which is what I would want too if I wasn't feeling too peachy.

Family "B" | Sandpoint Photographer

Another beautiful family session in Dover. The last time I saw this little chicka was when she was a wee one. Her daddy is our Childrens Pastor at FCC and is amazing with kids of all ages.. and his wife... is amazingly beautiful...inside and out!

Miss "I" was all smiles and eyes the last time I photographed her, but on this day... I think I scared her more than anything LOL. I was so shocked to see how big and pretty she has gotten. I forget how fast these kids grow up till its been a while and I see them again.

Miss "I" had a cute pink laughing hippo that would make her laugh... and me of course, but what shocked me was the fact that she did not like touching grass on her feet. I thought I had the only daughter that was like that at that age.

Family "B", thanks so much for coming out and letting me do your photos again. It was so nice seeing you all and playing. Hopefully next time Miss "I" wont think I am such goofy dork :) Thanks again... you all are amazing!!

Family "O" | Sandpoint Photographer

This past weekend I was able to finally do some photos of the "O" family. Ever since this beautiful momma was pregnant, I wanted to do photos of her and her baby! We had a great time playing in Dover. Sweet "A" is just full of smiles and personality... She made me giggle a lot!

Also on this special day was Mr and Mrs "O" anniversary.. HOW AWESOME!!! Of course I was more than happy to do some photos of them together. Although I dont think Mr. O thought getting pictures done was so much work, LOL. "J" thanks for hanging in there and having a smile thru all the photos!!!

The "S" Family | Sandpoint Photographer

This week a MOPS mom called me and asked if I was available to do a quick session of her kiddos with their grandparents that were in town.... of course!!!
We decided to meet up at city beach and then over for some ice cream... OH MAN.. her little guy had me in stitches!! He was all about the camera and posing. I LOVED it!! It was refreshing to photograph an older kid that LIKED it - LOL. I had so much fun with him.. the facial expressions he had.... LOVED IT!!

Birthday Smash | Sandpoint Child Photographer

Happy Birthday Mr. Q!!! How fast a year goes by.... I remember how tiny this little guy was and now he is all grown up and mobile!! It was been a wonderful year watching this little man grow and I am so blessed that I was able to do so. Every time- with each client- I am amazed on how these kiddos grow so fast!

....M & W, it has been so wonderful having you guys in the studio this year with Q. I am so excited to meet the new little one.. I am thinking its a girl :) I hope that you have had a great experience with me and I hope to still be able to see Q often!

In Memory Of.......

This weekend, Sunday especially, was a very busy day. I think a great day overall, but very busy. There were a few things that happened on Sunday... my AWESOME 'Hey Cupcake' sessions...it was so wonderful seeing everyone. Those photos are hopefully going to be done soon. Another big thing that happened on Sunday was my hubby took me out on a date! What makes it special is I was not feeling very pretty. In fact I was feeling pretty frumpy. So he surprised me by taking me shopping for a new COMPLETE outfit! Ohh I was in girl heaven. My husband TOOK me shopping, did not once complain, suggested items, asked if I wanted more, /bought me SHOES- that alone could have been the end of the date and I would have been happy...jewelry to match my outfit.....and he bought me 2 more dresses for just because..like I said I was just in heaven. He then took me out to a nice dinner were we sipped on wine (sipped because we are light-weights!) and toasted to love, life and happiness. It was perfect!

But the one thing that stood out the most and took my breath away on Sunday was the memorial for my hubby's mom. She had passed away about 5 years ago- before Charley and I got together. She had been cremated and the family has been planning on her memorial/ spreading of her ashes for a while.

..if i seem to flip flop and jump around, forgive me, I am just writing off of true emotions....

From day 1 with my husband, his family has welcomed me with open arms. I have never felt so much love from people I did not know or that they have not known me. From day 1 I have heard amazing and loving stories of this amazing woman that had passed. She was loved SO much...I often wish that I could have met her. My sister in law- who her herself is totally amazing, is quick to tell me when either her mom and I have something in common or how much her mom and I would have gotten along so well.

On Sunday, almost everyone shared a story or something that Linda had done, and everyone laughed as if they were saying, "I love you Linda! I miss you so much". Linda was quick to call a friend to remind her that today was HER birthday, or it was perfectly fine to sing loud to the lord, or to pray for someone you didn't know just because they had crossed your path. Listening to all these stories and more made ME want to be a better person, a better woman, a better wife, a better mom, a better ME. I wanted nothing more to have wanted to meet this incredible woman God had created.

The memorial was held at the Veterans Memorial Centennial Bridge in Couer d Alene. The story is heard that Linda and her brother had gone up on the bridge and she, in her fun and lighthearted ways, decided to throw a paper airplane off the bridge.... so in honor of Linda, the family took some of her ashes and placed it inside a paper airplane and let her fly...it was a sight that just took your breath away.

This amazing woman, daughter, wife and mom is SO loved and so missed. She will be forever remembered and loved....and one day, when I am taken to live in eternity, I will be able to meet her face to face and we together will dance like the silly girls we are.

Mr & Mrs Barnes | Sandpoint Wedding Photographer

Even between the hustle and bustle all around, there sat the soon to be Mrs Barnes, all draped in a bathrobe with her mom and friend by her side, looking so beautiful and calm. Down stairs the finishing touches were being made on the table arrangements and reception area and the cooks were in the kitchen starting the cooking, which smelled so good.

As "S" was upstairs getting ready for one of the biggest days of her life, her loved one... the one that she would be calling her husband within the next few hours... was downstairs enjoying some cheerful moments with his friends and son.

It was only a few days before the wedding that I was able to meet the bride... They traveled all the way up from Colorado to have a beautiful wedding at her parents amazing home. At first we chatted about the little details and time, but as soon as she showed me her shoes.... I wanted to be her best friend! I was totally excited that she had PINK shoes for her wedding dress.. not one, but TWO different pairs of PINK shoes!! I was in love!! ...and I wanted to smuggle the shoes back home with me! We spent a few hours going over all the details and looking at where the wedding would take place. By the end of the night, I was so excited and couldn't wait for her big day. I knew it would be beautiful.

My good friend of mine, Amber from Basil & Saige, was the wedding coordinator for the Barnes wedding. Amber is so incredibly talented. She made me want to get remarried and have her plan it all. I really wish I could share my visual memories with you all on how incredible this wedding was. "S" picked out great colors for her wedding that made you want to dance and spin around in circles.. ok so maybe that was just me. But it did make me skip a few times. Hopefully no one saw that!

.....There was a simple muscian group up on the balcony that was playing such beautiful music. It seemed to have made the whole thing even more magical. The guests were eagerly sitting in thier white chairs, just waiting to get a peek of the blushing bride. As the mother of the bride walked down the isle, there she stood trying to hold back her tears of joy for her daughter; but the moment "S" brother strutted his stuff down the isle throwing petals, all the nerves seemed to have lifted. As the music played on, down came the beautiful "S" in arm with her father. They seemed to have shared a few last moments just to themselves in laughter before he gave her hand to the man she was about to marry.

As the bride and groom joined hands, you could feel the love and friendship they had pour over everyone. Andy, from Basil & Saige, did the most beautiful and lighthearted ceremony I have ever heard. Again... they all made me want to get married again.

... I could go on and on about every detail to share, but would be saying the same thing over and over again about how this was so awesome.. and that was so beautiful....so how about I just get to the part where I share some photos. It was really hard for me to pick which ones to share. I wanted to share them all!!

S & R.... thank you SO much for letting us be a part of your big day. It really was a beautiful wedding. We enjoyed getting to know each of you and your family. I hope you had an awesome honeymoon and hope to see you again next time you are in Sandpoint!! ~Much love and happines....

Mr & Mrs Anderson | Destination Wedding

Charley and I were honored to be a part of this very cute couple. They came up from Seattle to get married up on the mountain top at her parents home. Beautiful views! Scary getting there!

I have never met such a bubbly and happy woman before! Stephanie was so excited and just glowed the whole day. It never seemed once that her nerves were getting to her. She just seemed thrilled to finally become one with her love.

It was such a sweet and simple wedding - just perfect!

My Birthday Boy.....

I always tell others how time flies with kids....and I am always amazed when my kiddos celebrate their birthday how fast time actually goes.

Last night Charley & I went birthday shopping (nothing like waiting till last minute) and it was actually hard to decide what to get the crazy kid! He is really into baseball and anything destructive... but we decided since we have a car lot out front and the backyard is [still] not done, that giving this kid a "weapon" a.k.a a bat and ball, would not be a great idea.

you will have to check back later to see what we decided on. I have to admit, it was something I always wanted as a kid and always wanted to get my kids..... now they will have to battle it out to play with!

We thought it would be fun to have lil man wake up to balloons in his room, so hubby filled up 16 balloons and left them in his room to wake up to. I think Christopher thought it was the coolest thing. He was so excited and came running into my room to tell me there was balloons all in his room! He has been carrying them all morning.

Three years goes super fast :(

Birthday Celebration | Sandpoint Child Photographer

Meet Mr. K. His sweet sitter decided as a gift to his momma, to come get his first year photos done with me. Mr. K, was super cute and did not know what to think of crazy me. I think my bed head scared him ..... I actually got to take a nap before they came. I still had couch lines on my face!!

Of course we did the "clean" look images before we let him loose on his cute cake. Once he sat down he was quick to taste the frosting. After a while of playing with it, he was not happy about having it all smooshed in between his fingers and toes.. needless to say, this little guy was done playing with cake!! But it was still so cute!

Chelsi- thank you for thinking of me to do his photos.. I really hope his mom enjoys them. What a great gift!!

Family Fun | Sandpoint Photographer

Remember this family..... i feel like i am repeating myself.... This sweet mom and her boys did photos with me back when I was prego down at CDA park. She did her session as a gift to her hubby- which I guess he really liked because they all came back this time to add dad!
We met up again at CDA park at the lake side to catch some nice sun rays but the sun had a different plan than we did. The boys were great again and full of energy... it would be such a great gift if we as adults could have as much energy as kids do! Can you imagine all that you would be able to accomplish??!!!

It was nice seeing you all again and I hope you had an enjoyable time. Thank you for being so understanding of my traveling packages in tote ;)

Remember this cute couple... well since the weather is a LOT nicer than it was this winter, we got together again for some more cute engagement photos. We decided to make our way down to Dover for some romantic photos. It was very beautiful out there but the bugs started coming out and I gave away the fact that I am not anywhere near a north Idaho chick. I dont do bugs! In fact- you could probably say that I act really girly about it.

Again it was a delight to work with them again... I am looking forward to their big day and seeing how beautiful Heidi will be. I KNOW it will be an amazing wedding and day for them both!

Newborn | Sandpoint Photographer

Sweet lil baby B. I could not believe how tiny this little guy was. Mostly because my little one is seriously like a sack of potatoes and this sweet thing was like holding..... a feather!

I was so excited to meet this sweet boy since I first met mom and dad. I know that they had waited for the moment to meet him for a super long time and I am SO happy and excited for them both. I wish nothing but the best for your family!

Today was Mr. B's newborn session at just 8 days old. Man, how time flies with those newborns! So far I have learned that Mr. B LOVES to eat and suck on anything pretty much (poor mom) and he loves to look around, and my goodness- can poop a lot!!

I couldnt wait to post a few images from our session. I hope you guys enjoy and I will call you in a few days when your photos are all done and posted.

Twin Lakes Family | North Idaho Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful and fun family from out of state that were celebrating the 4th out in Twin Lakes. I was really excited and shocked on how beautiful it was out there. To meet the family we had to be picked up by boat- which again was exciting.

They were ALL so wonderful to me as I had to bring along the little baby. I figured it would be an easy thing to do, but of course the baby had other plans. Thankfully, Charley came along to help shoot as well.

How Time Flies....

In just a few minutes (at the time of me writing this is pieces that I can) my little potato will be 1 month old. Its amazing how time flies when you are in love :)

This little baby has been such a blessing to me and my family. I am so happy and grateful that I have him. He brings me such joy!

There are so many moments in the day where I just sit and marvel at this being that was created. Created out of so much love. I love every little thing about him. The smell of his hair, the softness of his head- so small that I can still cup it in my hand; the defined shape of his nose, the curve of his mouth, the strong grip of his hands, the strength of his kicks. I love when we lock eyes and when he hears my voice, how his little mouth turns into a smile. I love his little coos and soft cries, the way he latches on to me and how, when he eats, his little hand kneeds the side of my chest. I love every little bit of this baby!

As the minutes are creeping up to the big moment of his delivery, I can actually feel myself going thru all those emotions again. It was a glorious day and I was very excited, but at the same time I was extremly scared. And although I had already been thru the procedure before, it scared me more to know what was going to happen. This time, would I actually feel the actual incision, would it hurt more, would it take longer to be in the OR, what about the recovery time... So many questions. But in the end, it was all just fine.
I remember sitting in my room with my husband and cousin, just watching the clock and the fluids rushing thru the IV. My nerves were building so fast and it seemed they had no where to go. I like to think I kept my cool for a while and even had some moments of laughter and jokes in the OR as they were setting up. As soon as my hubby sat down beside me and I looked into his eyes, I could not hold back my emotions any more. I could not be that strong woman anymore. This was the moment that I was going to meet this gift from God.

8:59 a.m. we welcomed our little Charlie Joe into our world and into our lives.

Family Camp Trip | North Idaho Photographer

We made it out finally this summer for our first family camping trip - before the kiddos left for vacation (lucky ducks!). We decided to stay local and camp out down at Mirror Lake. It was actually a very nice stay. The lake was really nice - to look at. You will not catch this chick-a-bee swimming in ANY lake! I was itching to go out and fish but with our lil potato, I never got a chance to make it out there. That is ok, there will be a next time!

Here are some photos from the weekend. There are LOTS more to come. The kids kept asking to take photos, so I handed over the old Rebel and let them go to town. LOTS of images and questions but for the most part they are good. I have to give props to my son, I think he has the photo bug! I cant wait to share those, but for the meantime, I hope you enjoy these!!

How does he know??

Today I had a good friend, Staci Bailey, come over to do some photos of me and the baby so I actually have some with me in them with this cute little man. Plus I thought it would be cool to have a nice collection that matched the maternity photos she did.

We had a pretty good day today and the kids all played together very well. Staci's little girl I could have just put in my pocket and kept her. Both her kids have such great eyes. I am hoping to steal them one day and do some photos of them.

Ok so anywho... Like I had mentioned before I have a really hard time getting photos of my little Charlie boy. Its like he knows the sound of the camera or can smell it or SOMETHING. He did NOT want to be put down at all and forget about my special tree branch pose I have been DYING to get. He wanted nothing to do with it AGAIN. UGH I was so frustrated. Poor Staci was here all day and he just would not do it. So I have accepted the fact that he just wont do what I want him to do - which makes me really sad; I am just gonna have to find me another baby to play with. So Jen Q you are on my list for my special pose with your bambino!

~Staci thanks so much for hanging out with me today and dealing with the heat, cleaning up the spit up on me and just hanging out with me. I enjoyed having your kids here and hope we can get them all together again soon.

I am really looking forward to seeing a sneak peek of what Staci was able to capture. For right now, I am going to take my pills, pray that my hubby gets home VERY soon and try to ignore the fact that the kids are playing and not cleaning like they are suppose to. I need to get some rest. What a busy and hectic day!

Father & Daughter Dance Night

I posted these on my Facebook but wanted to share with others. There was a Father & Daughter Dance for girl scouts and Charley & his cousin decided to take the girls {Lilly and her cousin}. The theme was Hawaiian so they got all decked out in floral patterns and I think they looked great!

I told my daughter that she was VERY special because I have been asking daddy to take me dancing for 4 years now and we have yet gone. But I know its hard to say no to a pair of big blue eyes and a sweet freckled face. I wouldn't have been able to tell her no either!

The girls got together that night and sweet Auntie Angel served them sparkling cider in wine glasses, gave them pedicures and rubbed with down with body glitter. They looked so cute together. Lilly was so excited to get all dressed up and pampered. Its not often that I do her hair for her or even let her leave the house with some makeup on, but for a special occasion with her daddy, I couldn't resist.

I only wish I could have followed them and documented the night. I heard she learned how to waltz and correctly and respectfully learn how to dance with a boy. I cant even get my head to go that far into the futrue with her dancing with another boy. UGH!

Here are some pictures of them before they left for the big night. My family members tell me that she looks like my mini twin when I was younger. I do not recall looking as beautiful as she does. But you can call me biasis if you want- I think she is beautiful!

Chazbo ~ Part II
Newborn Photographer Sandpoint

Here it is, my second attempt with daddy. We did not get much but the ones that we did get, I am happy with. I don't even know if I should put myself on the list to try to get some pictures of him and I together.

Looking at these, my heart just melts with the love that I have with these 2 guys. Of course each in a different way. My husband, when I look at him, I am flooded with emotions and love on how he cares for me and our family. This guy is the hardest working man I have ever known. He will bend over backwards to help anyone. I am amazed on our relationship that we have and the strength that we have together. I feel so blessed to have this family and this man in my life.

When looking at this baby (and the other kids) I feel overwhelmed at moments on the love that created them. Lilly and Matty are being raised by someone that is amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that those 2 will grow and flourish in life with the love and caring from not only myself but also with this father they have in their lives. Christopher and sweet Charlie Joe, again created with much love. Looking at them reminds me of my relationship that I have with my husband and the Lord. Again, I feel so blessed. I know I keep saying that over and over again, but I am so grateful to have the blessings in our lives like we do. I have the best family!

Charley, thank you so much for loving us the way you do. I am so proud of you for doing all that you are to take care of us in this hard time. I will continue to stand beside you and love you. Thank you so much for letting me do the photos of you and Charlie boy. I love you ALL so much. It makes my heart fill with so much joy and love. I feel so blessed to have not only you, but all the kids.

Chazbo ~ Part I

Newborn Photographer - Sandpoint

Here is my first attempt at my kiddos first photo session. We did not get very far as you can see because apparently I did not discuss exactly what he was suppose to do nor NOT do LOL. You would think that the photographers own children would have the best images and the most... well I am here to confess to you all that getting photos of my own children is the hardest and usually results in the least amount of photos. I can not speak for the other mommy photographers, but good gravy! I have been plotting for the last 9 months on all the different poses and shots that I have been wanting to do and so far I feel like a failure. Of course I have to blame my patience levels on that as well as the fact that I still can not get around easy. But I am still determined to get what I want!!!

On a more happier note.... I just love this kid! I know I have said it before but I am so blessed to have him. He is such a good baby and sleeps so well for us and never cries - unless he has gas bubbles. To me he is so cute and he has the cutest facial expressions.

On Friday, he turned one week and I was actually sad. I couldnt believe that one week had already past. I know time will just fly having him in our lives.

I can not believe its already been one week since lil Charley has been born. It really doesn't seem like it has been that long. Not that a week is really THAT long, unless you are waiting to actually have the baby.

Unfortunately I have not had the chance to do his newborn photos mainly due to the comfort level of the incision. It has not been fun, but we have it on the schedule for tomorrow morning to finally get some of my fave newborn shots of my own little guy. I really cant wait. I am super excited. I just hope I have a sleepy and willing lil man to mold!

Charley baby is such a good baby. We are truly blessed with him. He sleeps great, he has a softcry that he uses only when he is hungry. Not only am I really happy with an easy baby but he is so darn cute. I cant wait to do his pictures ( have I said that already?)

And he is finally is... our little potato - Charley :)

We went in on Friday morning for our scheduled C-section at 7 am. The night before and that morning I was doing great. Charley ( my hubby) and I woke up and got things all together and the car packed with the misc items needed for my "vacation". We picked up Cousin Ryan and headed to town to have a baby!! We are all excited - until we got half way there. All of a sudden, the nerves flushed over me. In just a few hours (if that) I was actually going to hold this baby that has been growing in my belly. It was all very surreal. As much as i was excited, i just couldnt shake the nerves. Everytime i looked at my hubby, his face was filled with so much love and excitement. I wanted so bad to just hang on to him and not let go till i was back in my room holding our new baby. Its amazing on how scared I was becoming.

when i arrived at the hospital and got checked into my room, they handed me one of those sexy nightgowns that will flash anyone that walks behind ya. I got into my bed to be hooked up to all the fun things waiting for me ( ie: IV, baby monitor, blood work, BP,etc) I looked over and saw all the stuff that was waiting for me to prepare me for my delivery. Again, the nerves kicked in. The next time I looked up at the clock, it read 8:35 and of course I had to ask what time they thought we would be rolling out of here and it seemed she answered me without a pause, 30 minuetes! I still couldnt believe it.

Fast Forward

We get rolled back to the OR with all of us dressed in the finest blues (kidding of course) and this was the big moment. Excitment and fear all rolled into one. So far I was doing ok and had not let any of my fears show yet. The OR had some great rock music playing and everyone was in such great spirits. So many people in there I really couldnt keep count but there was a lot. Soon the epidural was in and my legs got wonderfully warm and then like magic, the feelings in my legs were gone. I couldnt help but to giggle as I watched them move my body. I kept apologizing to them that they had to do the work. Finally my hubby came in. It was so relieving having him there next to me. He made me feel safe. As soon as they put up the curtain and gave me the oxygen, I couldnt hold in my tears any longer. I was just nervous - so nervous that I had to just cry. Thankfully Pam and my hubby just kept talking to each other which helped me to concentrate on them and not on the actual act of me getting cut open.

within a few minues and a few pulls and tugs, out came our precious baby boy. Everyones first reaction was "OH WOW, he is so big!!" I was not expecting that kind of response but it was funny. Just like all our other kiddos, he too had a full head of hair. Dark but lots of blonde throughout. And he was a very big baby - for me. Weighed in at 8 pounds 11 ounces. Now we were all wondering where he was hiding in my belly. I felt huge, but really did not look like I was carring an EIGHT pound baby!

So far he really is a great baby. I am sure i will have some surprises once we get home, but for the most part he is very easy going - likes to eat but has very readable cries for what he needs. No problems except he is still having some issues trying to get the rest of the mucus out from delievery.

Being with him all day was a great day yesterday, and I surprisingly felt wonderful!! I was so shocked on how well i felt. Besides the lack of sleep I was getting, everything was great. Dr. H came to check on me and gave me some advice that I was greatful for! Between him and the nurses, I felt like I got some great sleep last night - which was much needed. Today, on the other hand, was nothing like yesterday. More painful :( The nurses again helped me get some rest but when i woke up from it not only did my milk come in (hello boobs!) but also all those new hormones came in as well. there is nothing like waking up from a nap and crying for no reason! All I can say is my poor hubby will need something special after dealing with me. I just keep praying that I kept grounded. I pray that God is with me as much as possible so I dont go completly coo-coo.

Tomorrow we will be heding home to a house with 3 others kids that cant wait to see and hold lil Chazbo ( his nickname). It will be nice to be in my own bed again and I cant wait to get some pictures of this cute guy :)

well.... tomorrow is the BIG day. "D" day, I guess you can call it. The day we finally get to meet this growing miracle that has been with me for 9 LONG months.

As much as its very exciting, its also very nerve racking. This is the first time that I am "scheduled" to have a baby. It is like having a stork bring you a baby. There seems to be so much more planning and waiting then it is to have it in a natural way.

We have done as many preparations as we can think of- cleaning (all the time), ample supply of diapers and wipes, cute little baby clothes, a bassinet, blankets and trying not to get so freaked out about the whole process of getting cut open and the healing process. I think maybe that is the scariest part of all, is the unexpected of the healing process. From our last c-section, the healing was very long and at times very uncomfortable. I sure it will be easier because I will know what to expect but at the same time I will have a 2 year old to chase around as well :)

Be it as it may, we are still very excited and ready to hold this little potatoe. As for a name, I believe we have it picked out, but then again we are open to some other suggestions that suggest a STRONG NAME. As long as we come home with a baby that has a name, I am not worried. I know that God will give us the name that is perfect for this baby.

Last night we were able to have one more date night - which was great! We did our usual of Mcdonalds and walmart but ended the night at the movies to watch Night At The Museum - which we both really enjoyed. I love spending time with my husband - we always have a good time together. I know it will be tricky to do that again - at least for a while.

As far as the business.... I do plan on taking some time off of course. Really dont think anyone wants to see me wobble around more than they already have plus being sleep deprived! You are all invited of course to stop by (with some notice) to visit, if you like, but the only sessions I will be accepting for a few weeks will only be for newborn sessions. If you are due to deliver soon, please contact me to schedule a tentative date. Charley will also be around to answer any questions and to place ordered that are pending. I will have access to my email and if possible I will answer them. When I am ready to get back to "work" I will post another note and start taking sessions again :)

I wanted to thank everyone who has had to endure me for the last 9 months, I for one, apologize. I have learned a lot about myself during this pregnancy which mostly is the fact that I have some control issues and I can be a not so nice person LOL. I especially owe an apology for my loving husband that has not once walked away when I have gotten emotional over something silly.

I do plan on taking some pics of my own lil babe to share - which I have been waiting to do. I am so excited about that. So keep an eye out :)

Well, my friends, I am going to go pack my bag and check my To-Do List one more time and then celebrate with my family for a new addition!

OHMYGAWSH!! That is all I can utter to say.

This is a repeat client - although the last time I got to photograph her was when she was just a newborn peanut. My, how she has grown. This is sweet Miss K. I wanted to spend our session time just squeezing and playing with her chunky legs! I dont know what is more cute than seeing a good chunky baby! I only wish I looked as cute as she with all those rolls!

We had a lot of fun and were able to do a lot of different things. 6 months is such a fun age!! Here is the sneak peek! Isn't she just ADORABLE?!!

Kids Just Wanna Have Fun | A Family Session

I ran a special just for MOPS moms to give them a chance to have a session in the nice weather we have been having and this beautiful momma and her 3 boys met up with me at CDA park where we watched them be boys by jumping and climbing over anything they could scale.

I do have to admit that boys are a lot of fun and lovable. It was so heart warming seeing these boys just give loves to their mom. They don't know it right now, but some day soon they will realize how special it was to do some photos with mom!

I had a great time meeting with them and doing their photos. I bought this new red fabric for her KNOWING it would be beautiful! I cant wait to meet the new little one when he or she arrives. I have LOTS of ideas!!!

Baby Alora | Newborn Sandpoint Photographer

Oh sweet, sweet baby. There are so many things I just love about babies. They have this magical sweet smell to them that you seem to never get enough of, the tiny toes, the strong grip of a baby's hand, and how cute that little nose and mouth are. Gosh, I just love them babies!!

One of the other great things of babies, are the wonderful parents :) A former bride and groom of mine gave me the pleasure of photographing their sweet little girl. I was so excited when I heard momma was expecting and just watching her grow along with me has been wonderful. We had some great lunch dates just talking about babies!
